  • Any decent 700c * 28mm puncture proof skin wall tyres?

I’ve been given my dad’s old 70’s bike to restore. It’s a 10 speed Lambert Aerospace (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/lambert.html) and it would look a lot better with some skin wall tyres like the originals, which have now deteriorated.

Trouble is, I can’t find too many! Any ideas?

Don’t know about puncture proof but I’ve been very impressed with my Vittoria Corsa G+ over the past 7 months. Just one puncture in that time despite riding on some pretty poorly maintained surfaces on a regular basis and I’m putting that one down to running slightly too low pressure/not checking before the ride. Mine are 25’s but you can get 28’s.

Corsa G+ have been ok so far no punctures as of yet fitted at Xmas

I’d go with 25c Corsa G+, as they come up pretty wide.

It’s an obvious point, but are the wheels 700c or 27″?

ah! You’re right, they are 27″. Existing tyres say 28-630.

    Damn all these wheel sizes.

    Pasela is available in 27 x 1 1/4 if it’ll fit.

I’d second the panracers, Run them on an old tandem. Depending on brakes, you can swap wheel sizes, but 27″ will be the cheapest option
