    From Hope
Up the rocky climb to then descend through Cavedale
    Up Broken Road
Down back of Mam Tor to Nether Booth (muddy)
    Up Jaggers
Down Roman (mud on the Hope brink)

    Any better 15-20 milers??

Ooof, that is a pretty muddy one. Mam Tor’s gonna be a quag
Jacobs route? mostly rocky if you go up Chapelgate

    From Edale
    Hollins Cross (climb reasonably dry)
Mam Tor (paved from Hollins, a bit muddy on Bridleway part)
    Rushup Edge (boggy)
    Roych Clough
    South Head
    Jacobs Ladder up/down

I did this (@pook’s advice) just after big snowfall had thawed out in April 2012 and apart from Rushup Edge it’s dry-ish/rocky with a couple of small linking sections on road

Jambalaya would sort of get my vote, but skip Hollins Cross climb, Mam Tor and Rushup and climb Chapel Gate instead, then as above. You could add in the Campsite descent (#) then Tarmac back to the start of the climb up to Jacobs.

    # If you want more climb the cobbles to the shooting cabin and descend 20 trees

Or stick to Hayfield side altogether

    If you are interested….

    Took carlos and Jambs advice…

From Edale up Chapel (first time on this path and it was a steep one!!)
Down Roych and up South Head
Across Path to to top of Jacobs
Down Jacobs and back to Edale

Short ride but a fun one….

Will link it up to our cavedale loop when its dryer and I get fitter!!

Is the path from South Head to Jacob’s the one that has been mostly flagged quite recently. Saw it but haven’t ridden it . Should make a good cut through to avoid going all the way down to Coldwell Clough.

FOG – yes it is. Was a gamble as had just seen the path on the OS map. We planned to turn back if it looked like we might find a sink hole 🙂

I don’t mind the CC climb…..but once this is linked up with some other great Peaks hills it will be great to focus more on the downs 😀

First third was a bogfest….flags made a great little traverse to the top of Jacobs…..was still a tiring job though……
