    This time for the trains.

Anyone who knows the riding in Chamonix will know how useful the train can be either out of season, out of lift opening hours, or just as a cheap/free alternative to gaining height to the lifts, for mountain bikers.
Malheuresment, the new trains intended for delivery to the valley in 2016 (though if the Montroc tunnel upgrade is anything to go by, 2020) will not be able to carry bikes.

Please give this petition a wee sign if you have, do, or plan to, use the train in the Chamonix valley.

    Cheers, Graham

Errr, I’m not convinced you’ll manage to influence design for trains due to be launched next year…

It’s unlikely the petition would influence the decision no matter what the lead time, but it might help the next generation of rolling stock, it might help raise awareness of the importance of cycling in the valley to both the economy and residents (I know several people who cycle down the hill to work in Passy in the morning, then get the train 1/2 way back in the afternoon)

Also, the cycle area is not a particularly major design change, modifications might be possible to luggage/ski racks or to swap out some seats for fold down seat.

Or we could just not bother trying at all.
