I have been trawling the tinterweb but with little success, so here goes..

Has anyone managed to fit a coil rear shock to the Marin wolf ridge 6.9 quad trail 140(08-09)? If so details please.

    Cheers

I’ve seen it done on a 150 attack trail, it doesn’t look like there is enough room but there is. Can’t imagine it would be any different if the right length shock is used on a 140 wolf ridge.

The 150 Attack Trail and the 140 Wolf Ridge are identical setups in terms of travel – they’re both 146mm.

Can’t see why you’d want to fit a coil shock though, the WR frame relies on a progressive shock action to prevent the suspension from bottoming out.

Good point I’ll have a trawl for attack trail Coil shocks.
The reason for wanting coil is mainly from doing it to my old wolf ridge Tara frame, as it totally changed the way it handled, so much plusher and a much linear action. Plus I’m a fat heifer at 95kg….
Maybe I’ll give air another chance….
