Many of you who visit the Surrey Hills will enjoy a beer after in the Royal Oak or one of the other pubs and have got used to parking up bikes on show and not worrying too much about security. Sorry but it's time to start worrying. Another bike was lifted from the a car rack last night, teh seond in two weeks. They obviusly know that weds and Thurs seem to be prefered nights for riding and swing by every couple of weeks. Almost worth setting up a bit of a sting operation in a couple of weeks time. In the mean time lock your bike up.

Any info on whether the bikes were locked on the roof rack?

Not sure if locked on or just hung on back and strapped. Probably just strapped, most people riding here regularly myself inclded have got pretty complacent when it comes to security. Landlady didn't have too much info for me (couldn't even say what the bike was), but main message is lock it or potentially lose it. There is no light in the carpark so although there is cctv no images available.
