    If I have a stages 105 currently fitted to a standard compact, I was to buy a bb30 standard chai set would the stages LH crank still fit okay?

    And would there be any issue if i decide to get ultegra and still use the 105 stages crank? Other than OCD….

    You can’t buy Shimano BB30 (road anyway) chainsets AFAIK, they’re all 24mm spindles. If you got an Ultegra chainset I don’t see why (OCD aside) the 105 Stages wouldn’t be fine on it.

    A 105 Stages crank won’t fit a BB30 chainset and there’s no work-around, but it would work with Ultegra and other Shimano cranks.

    Ah ok so sounds like I have to get a conversion kit and fit a normal chain set….

    What a faff all these standards.

    To make matters worse the 105 crank is silver….!
