    Looks like I was too late to this but I can thoroughly recommend the Honor 9.
    Parent company is Huawei. Great phone.

    I recently bought a Maze Alpha, but I’ve yet to sort out a nano sim for it to see how it deals with calls! 😆

    Very snappy compared to my Nexus 7 2013 tablet, but then it has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage vs 1GB RAM and 16GB(?) storage IIRC. Bit smaller, fair bit lighter, nice screen.

    Still to see what the GPS tracking is like for rides.

    I’m happy with my Nokia 8. Nice build, solid metal case, good battery life, good camera, stock Nougat Android with regular updates as not crippled with operator software (Oreo upgrade due soon).

    Only custom thing is it can do photos and videos with both front and back cameras at the same time, and the camera software is tweaked to support that, plus a combined mode for main camera which has twin lenses (mono and colour).

    Any recommendations for a waterproof phone? I’m reading this with interest as the contract on my Moto g3 is about to end and the phone itself isn’t in the best nick. But it is waterproof which makes dropping it in a rucsac worry-free.
