I need to switch to a bigger sdcard on my android phone, old one is full. There are loads of app files on the full SD card. Do I need to copy stuff to the new card before putting it on the phone or will the phone copy across anything it needs?

Have you transferred apps to the sd card or are they backups?

If the former you’ll need to copy them to the new card manually or move them to the phone and then back to the sd once you have the new card in..

FWIW I’d just copy the old card to the new one and then tidy up from there

there are a few apps on the card, copies em across to try and save memory on the phone (sensation xe). I’ll just drag the lot across then.

    Put old card in pc
    Copy contents to pc
    Put new card in pc
    Copy files back to card
    Put new card in phone
    …?

wasn’t sure if I needed to copy all the files over, had 14gb on the old card and phone very slow so wanted to save as much space as possible. Just don’t know enough about the file types to know what I can delete or keep 🙁
