  • ancient road bike – what cranks/BB?

    ok got an ancient road bike with a shimano 5 speed cassette and SIS rear mech. the cranks and solid axle BB way a ton.

    So what ROAD cranks could I use with the above?

    square taper ? I bet loads of people do some that would work (middleburn mtb ones ??)

    You’d best do some measuring of shells and chainline though

    (is it UK bike – old italian frames & some others might have italian thread bb shell)
