I hear there’s roadworks between Windermere and Ambleside, are they so bad that its worth driving down to Greenodd (A590) through Coniston to get to Little Langdale?

We expect to be in the area about 0930 tomorrow morning. Google maps / traffic doesn’t make it look too bad and the journey time would be an extra 30 minutes going via Greenodd, taking into account traffic.

My instinct is to stick to the shorter route and assume that the jasm shouldn’t be too bad at that time of day

I doubt it will be a 30 minute delay at this time of year.

Go up the west side of windermere from Newby Bridge.

Although if you’re passing Greenodd pop into the bakery for a sausage roll, best in the county.

If you’re going to Little Langdale it’s much of a muchness
