It measures the amount of current being drawn by a device being charged via a USB cable.

Why? No idea. You can get an app for your phone that tells you the state of the battery (current, voltage, temperature etc). For other devices?

What have you got plugged into it OP?

I think it’s quite useful actually. I’ve got datalogging equipment I sometimes need to use away from mains so have to run it off USB ports and the more channels we use the higher the power draw.

i have a few different chargers and cables for different devices just want to see which charger charges the quickest i have a couple of i pad leads some non origonal want to see what the difference is also use a powerbank when i am away fishing with a 12v cigar socket and a usb. want ro check that as well
also want to see if the usb ports on the work pc are the same as i takes ages to charge my phone.

got my phone connected in the pic also displays the voltage as well

If you look on the bottom of the charger it will tell you the current, voltage and wattage. if it didn’t i wouldn’t be using it and i would throw it in the bin.

It’s a cheap device that’s probably not safety tested and might set on fire, but at least you’ll know exactly how much power you used in doing so!

You know it uses more power the more channels you use.
But is it useful to know what the power draw actually is ?
