One of the gear cable tensioners has fallen off my specialised s works, looks like it was barely on in the first place :o( Anyone know of a firm in the midlands that might tack it back on for a few quid?? Not the original owner so guessing the warranty is void!

Anyone else had the same problem and fixed it??

BETD is Stoke. Argos mail order.
You could try enquiring with Spesh customer services about the best way to refix it, be honest with them they may have some good suggestions.

welding proobably won’t work out too well (and expensive).

    Maybe arldite it on?

Or go for full/half length outers?

Which one has fallen off? Put a full length outer on and don’t use the cable guides, its much better!

I can’t tell what sort of fitting, without seeing the thing itself, but Araldite Rapid Steel is a pretty bloody good (and surprisingly unknown) metal adhesive. But what is your frame?

    Need more info really.

    Speshpaul:

You are the font of all knowledge, thanks :o)

Popped into BETD and they were quite happy to weld it on, then realised as Im running discs we could use the brake cable mount instead. Sorted! Very good bike shop, just like I remember them, chilled and friendly.

Rudeboy: Will look into that & see if itll do ay good. I live with a (industrial) welder so hes a tad sceptical about glue, dont mean it wont work though! Thanfully itll be cosmetic now but could be useful for other things :o)

Unless it’s a cable stop, I’d be reluctant to do anything. Welding on a guide seems silly.
