I would like to plan a route to follow off road. Pref using OS maps on my phone. Is there a cheaper alternating to memory maps as they are looking for 300 quid for the pc version (to plan the maps)

it would be nice to know when ive made a wrong turn

    Viewranger ticks all the boxes

Route planning can be done either online using a PC or on the app itself

I’ve been using Viewranger for years and their customer service is really good , started on a Nokia N95 phone
and I’ve been able to port my maps over the the half a dozen phones I have had since for free

The route planning on the OS Getamap site seems to work great and you can easily export to gpx

There’s a subscription price for more options but basic free gives you multiple maps and routes plus the ability to export

Just planned a route on the bikehike.co.uk website. Was very impressed as it used both google open cycle maps and some open source OS map.

I would reccomend that anyone tries it.

    Thanks CP.
