Was considering purchasing a set of 2-way radios for group rides.

Was also thinking there must be something better now i.e. digital, low and behold there might be:

Have regular group club rides and use Motorola TLKR T80 Extreme, weatherproof and quite small, not expensive either.

They are not selling outside US yet anyway. I could see the US not wanting them to end up in Syria.

That Gotenna uses the MURS frequencies (151-154 MHz). So they are allowed for use in the US, but probably illegal to use in UK/Europe.

Is it me or is that just a two-way UHF radio with a smartphone app?

I like the idea of sending messages rather than poor quality audio.
