Some friends have suggested we go to a child-specific hotel in Alps next summer, so we can do a bit of riding and leave our toddlers with the staff.

Anyone got any experience of these? Think the name "Kinderhotel" was mentioned and a quick search suggests this is Austria/Germany-based.

If anybody has been to one of these specifically, would be interested to know about the local riding too. And also if there's any similar set-ups in French Alps.

    Cheers.

Not sure if Neilson and Crystal hols do summer stuff, certainly do winter stuff. Skiied with Crystal few times and the childcare has been fine, mostly staffed by gap yearers.

Check out Ski Esprit for French trips.

But any decent chalet (us included!) will arrange childcare for you.

The hotel au coin du feu in Morzine is pretty good. We stay there in the summer and it's full of families. We have no kids, but like the place a lot because the food and company is top notch.

They have a creche, sauna, jacuzzi and a huge underground garage with games, scooters and a table tennis table.

The adults with the kids were uber impressed by the hotel and the cheap day's out in Morzine/Avoriaz, due to the subsidised prices that the chalet users get.

It's right opposite the lift up to Avoriaz, so it's not long before you are whacking the downhills…
