I have XT brakes and am wanting to take quite a few extra pairs of pads to Morzine…I should be thinking softer organic as opposed to sintered as they dissipate heat better, right?

Superstar Kevlar for me in the alps.
If you’re sticking to shimano I think i’d still run the sintered ones in the alps cos it’s always got potential to be wet and grindy.

Uberbike race matrix have been great for us in the Alps, can’t fault them.

I’ve used kevlars for the last few years. Happy with them. Organic would cope better with the heat of long descents but sintered will last better if rains. The weather in Morzine is very hard to predict but you will most likely get some dry days and some wet ones so kevlar are a good compromise.

I wouldn’t take organic to the alps, the heat causes them to glaze. Sintered transmit heat to the fluid more, but not a problem with modern fluids as long as they have been bleed fairly recently.

I just used Shimano or Superstar organic pads as I hate the extra noise from every sintered pad I’ve tried
