I need to adjust the the cable stop thingy on my alfine hub. The non techy description is the hex headed thingy that you need to pop out when changing the wheel. The cable has streched slightly and perhaps even slipped slightly.

so how do i undo the thing?

You need 2 spanners – from memory an 8mm + 10mm (one for the hex head, one for the flats), and it just unscrews against it's self – hope that makes some sense!

will the cable adjuster on the trigger not adjust it enough?

no TJ, looking at the cable where it enters the cable stop thingy ™, I think its slipped slightly as the section of cable just in front of it is flattened
