Sure, I look at the bikes and spangley kit and think “oooh that’s nice” but I never buy any as 1) I already have a shed full of bikes 2) I’m not one of your upgraders or tinkerers & 3) I’m skint.

Fancy brakes? Nah, mine are fine.

The latest forks? Nah, mine are fine.

Glitzy disco slippers? Nah, mine are fine.

This however… I want. I don’t need one, I NEED ONE.

£15!

Chrome!

You set it on fire and put it in your pocket!

Cheap, shiny and people will say “you do what with it?” when you tell them what it is.

mmmmm fire and polyester clothing. Been there… it all happens very quickly, like being inside a burning, sticky, shrinky dinky.

In fairness to messers Whitby & Co. it provides heat by means of a “flameless catalytic” reaction. I’m guessing that setting it on fire starts it off.

Setting things on fire and putting them in your pocket is as daft as lighting a banger and dropping it down someones wellie*.

*Very daft.

Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day
Give a man a fishing rod and he’ll eat for life

Give a man water and he’ll drink for a day
Dig a man a well and he’ll drink for life

Give a man a fire and he’ll be warm for a day
set a man on fire and he’ll be warm for life.
