Off to Afan in a couple of weeks for the weekend. Plan to do the usual trails as well as some riding at Brechfa, but we’re also thinking of taking lights and doing some of the Afan valley trails after dark. Anyone done this?

Done it loads of times. Park in a busy place if you can, although the scallies are much betterer than they once were. Midges are absolutely horrific though, so DEET is your friend. And don’t forget a helmet light for the switchbacks.

Deffo take some midge repellent. Been a week since I rode there and I am still itching away at my legs.

Done penhydd, when it was open, and the wall. Helmet light a must and park by houses under viaduct, follow road to car park by footbridge, less than half mile
