Going to south wales for the weekend and was going to do Afan both days but have just noticed Cwmcarn. Is it a good alternative to Afan?

Cwmcarn is good for a quick blast but choose Afan for an all dayer IMO.

Head up Friday Night, All day at Afan, then stop for a blast round Cwmcarn on the way home on Sunday.

If Cwmcarn is on the way home then worth a stop otherwise make the most of Afan.

Really rather liked Cwmcarn when we went but it’s not that long so probably not worth a full day, but well worth a visit

Afan and start from the top carpark by the 4X track – you’d be mad to park down the bottom anymore

Afan, then Forest of Dean on the way back. FoD trails are way better than Cymcarn, though Cymcarn is a more dramatic place.
