got this today, its very shiny and pretty light, its a 95 gary fisher montare, am thinking about keeping the shiny chromey thing going, but advise on decent cranks, wheels etc would be good…. I havent done a retro build before and my bits knowledge begins at about 2004!

    basically what would you get?

budget is pretty limited, really limited actually, have probably £150….

Knock yourself out! Mombat site doesn't seem to be working at the mo' (try again later) but if you want to rebuild it original stylee then check out the '95 pages for all that was desirable back in the day . . . and make sure you post pics when it's done 😛

You want retro? You can't handle the retro.
    Etc.

post it on retrobike and find out the original build.
then have fun scouring ebay and retrobike to find the stuff to build it up with.

got it from harryburgundy from retrobike, i am new to this retro business, but he seems sound! he even sent some lindt choccies with it honestly couldnt be more chuffed, deffo one of the best buys from a forum.

just wanted to kit it out cheaply but well, (if this is possible) without kitting it out with really blingy retro kit from the 90s which still cost £sss, cranks for £80 for example, ouch!
