Anyone suffered from Acromioclavicular joint disruption? Haven’t had the full diagnosis yet, unable to see Shoulder Specialist until 3rd September. How long can I expect to be off the bike?

Depends on the grade and what they plan on doing about it TBH.

(Grade 1 and off the bike for about 5 mins)

Aye,me. Done my left shoulder about ten days ago. The doctor at A & E spoke to a consultant, and they were going to whip me off for surgery right away (mine is a Type 3 injury, apparently). In the end they decided to wait, so I have a follow-up appointment on the 6th September and we’ll see from there. They reckon it might mend itself. Got some nice pattern bruising down from the collar bone to the chest and shoulder blade. And sore………two shots of IV morphine in the hospital didn’t even touch it.Good luck with yours, mate.
Oh…….your original question……..how long off the bike? Too early to say, I’m afraid.

As above – achieve injury covers a massive spectrum of injuries. Simple answer is when it hurts less try riding – you’ll soon discover if you can ride ok or not.

Apart from elite athletes/manual workers and more severe injuries very few of these have to be fixed. Some justify discussion of fixation.

Cheers for the input. Doesn’t sound as bad as I first feared. Turbo out tomorrow.
