Heading down for work at the end of the month for the first time in about 10 years. Got an all-day conference on the Monday, but I’ve wangled the flights to give me a bit of time for amusement on the Sunday.

Looking for recommendations relevant to eating food, drinking beer, and maybe catching a band or something at night. I’ll check the local listings, but any pointers for reliable venues are welcome.

I also like doing things and other stuff, so open to any suggestions.

Edit: I’m staying slap-bang-sod in the centre.

When you say “slap-bang in the centre” what does that mean. The centre is still several miles across (ie the same size as all of Manchester 😉 )

Ah, nice one. Haven’t seen any live comedy in a while.

I’ll be a hop, skip and a jump from Charing Cross Station.

The south bank of the river, specifically the stretch between Parliament Bridge and London Bridge, is a great place to wander. You’ve got loads of places to eat and drink along there and several really lovely ways to spend your time.

The Tate Modern is absolutely worth a visit, even if you don’t like art. The building itself is simply a stunning space that is worth seeing.

Across Westminster bridge and then head East along the South Bank. Loads to do and see there on a nice evening.

Alternatively head to The Angel Islington for loads of cool places to go and eat and drink and then walk along the canal there for even more even cooler places.

This would be my suggestion. Went to this (Sunday night) two weeks ago and it was great. Real value for money and they were all hilarious.

    Easy walk from Piccadilly.
