Took the heads off whilst painting a room earlier, now I’ve put them back on the rad won’t shut off, its a sauna in there 🙁

Normally they stick shut right? The pin moves up and down fine and I can see it moving down as I turn it from 5 down to 0, but the room is still hot.

Worked fine before as we normally leave it on frost setting but do open it up occasionally.

Any tricks to free it up?

If they start playing up, then swap it. Only takes 15 mins if you have an F&E tank. Get the drayton tank plugs to create a vacuum on the tank and then swap it. Did 5 rads in my house recently in under an hour.

They do normally Stick shut ,Change quite a few each week, usually draytons ! … as long as the pin is free then it should be ok ? .. if not just isolate, drain down and change the pin, 15 min job at max 😀
Did u unwind the head to max before screwing in back on ??

Stumpy_m4. Yep my thoughts too. Sounds like they’re not on properly. Never heard of one sticking open before.
