Apart from the Surly specific tyres what are people using?

I used to run a 29er tube in a fat front build but now I have, or will have shortly, a proper fat bike I would prefer to run a more suitable option.

If you have links to what you are using I would be very grateful 🙂

    Cheers,

    I use the Specialized 2.4 – 3.0 tubes.
I’ve had two punctures in over two years of riding.

i have the surly ones from evans bikes
but i just ordered some cheaper ones from THE UNICYCLE SHOP a bit cheaper, and i also ordered some 24 inch ones to do the ghetto tubeless set up thing

Schwalbe do a 3 inch tube that I take as a spare. I reckon that with some Fenwicks in it for thorns would be a lightweight winner.

A Surly Rolling Darryl with an On One Floater was very easy to set up tubeless if that’s an option for you. Surly rim strip and just a wrap of gorilla tape, nice and easy.

As above by HH; Conti 26″ DH 2.5-2.5″

Go for the above if your rock riding-i get rubbing on tubes riding rocks which result in little rubber balls being formed as the tube rubs on the tyre at low pressures-real weird!.
In the past i blew out thin light weight tubes riding rocks on the coast. If your a light rider/riding trails etc then the light weight tubes will be fine 🙂

21″ x 3″ front motorcycle Michelin Desert Tubes are in my big Moonlander!, the most indestructible tubes yet!

Fatbikes benefit from tubeless even more than skinnies imo.

Ghetto tubeless RD’s and Bud/Nate here. Two punctures in the last year, both on the same stretch of stabby rocks in Morocco. The tyres stayed on the bead though so stuck anchovies in and blew up again. 🙂

Schwalbe 3.0 free ride tubes @ 185 grams each. I’ve been using them for months with no issues.
To my knowledge these are the lightest tubes available for a 4 inch.
