    Which is the preferable model?

1: Having all the “vested” interests of society (of whatever stripe) represented in a parliament and the various positions argued out for the purposes of making laws, or

2: Having Governers who’s job it is to control things and make them “better” for everybody?

I answer your question with a question. Why is it either or and not a bit of both?

No 1 is the ‘pure’ theoretical democracy

No 2 is the ‘pure’ dictatorship position

We have a mix of the two in the UK and the political ebb and flow shifts the split between 1 and 2 as the country requires.

    I think 😛

It occurs to me that ensuring the ebb and flow continues and remains effective, you need a majority of floating voters who are not committed to either end of the spectrum.

OP – in this context what’s your definition of ‘control’ and ‘better’?
