I've got an old house and the front wall is rendered and painted.

Over the years some of the paint has flaked off and has been overpainted. So now there are lots of unsightly ridges and hollows in the surface.

I've got a load of Dulux Trade Weathershield smooth masonry paint ready to re-decorate it, but is there any practical way to fill in those hollows to bring back a smooth surface.

It's not practical to scrape the whole lot off, I just want an effective way of filling them in.

I thought this was going to be in the spirit of yesterday's "sex addiction" thread, and was quite prepared for "why are you all round at my wife's"… 🙂

I have heard a man saying "my wife's got the painters in" meaning…his wife had painters in decorating the house.

I felt a bit silly after guffawing.

well I suppose that would save on brushes and rollers…

I just tried painting inside the hollows to bring the level back up to the surrounding area but it didn't seem to make much difference.
