Do magnets lose their magnetism over time?

    Can I re-magnetise them?

The magnets are bonded into the chassis and I don’t really want to have to break them out and replace them.

    Probably.
I lost mine when my hair fell out, my eyesight failed and I put on a few stone.

The all or nothing magnets that stick the car to the track up to the point that you overcome them and the car flips across the room? Better off without them, I reckon.

Not in this case. I’ve got a couple of top heavy Escort Cosworths that flip even at the slowest speed. Having tested them the magnets would appear to have lost their “magic”.

are they solid metal magnets or that thick magnetic tape stuff?

Probably best to get a big strong magnet and remagnetise it like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Srq0ITGJKwk

Yes magnets lose their charge – we have an MRI that is currently doing so.

You should be able to get something to re-magnetise it if they are only teeny ones. Or maybe replace them…even if it is a faff.
