got an email yesterday from Mapyx who produce Quo Digital mapping software:
    http://www.mapyx.com/index.asp?tn=shop2&c=357

looks a good price for what seems to be more functional than Satmap as it says you can transfer the map tiles you already own on to it!?

    Anyone ever used these devices?
Im looking for a device for long bike rides.

For the price, wouldn't an iPhone be as good?

I have a SatMap, and now I'm thinking of ditching it. One less thing to carry.

lol, no cos you can't put OS map on an IPhone, nor is it waterproof and more importantly, you can't attach an Iphone to your handlebars very easily!

Not exactly true seeing as Multimap is showing OS maps very nicely on my iPhone, but you're right about fitting to handlebars though!

    You were saying? 🙂

    and waterproof cases are available
and if you want to charge on the go, there's a hub dynamo that will do it.

Sounds like ideal LEJOG material to me.

Edit: wonder what they will do for the iPad 🙂
