Using 9spd chain, 9spd cassette and 9spd rings. It’s all about to die – chain massively stretched, ring teeth worn, low cogs on cassette worn.

Can I use 10spd chainrings? Along with new 9spd chain and 9spd cassette?

Yes, been running 10s chainsets on two 9s bikes for a year or so.

As has been said 9 and 10 speed rings are the same.

I’ve got a set of rings for sale if you are interested:

SLX chainrings: 42 – 32 – 22. Marked as 9speed but will work equally well with 10 speed. Brand new never used. £35.

I have a mixture of 9 and 10 speed chainrings on my 9 speed xt cranks.
