    righty then…..

    I have got a pair of 2009 xtr 9 speed wheels and I want to fit and 11 speed cassette to the free hub is this possible? or do I have to buy a new set of wheels… a new free hub for the wheels I have already got?? can anybody shed some light on the matter please x

    Shimano XTR 11 speed – should fit with no conversion as 11 speed XTR fits on a standard 8-10 speed freehub

    SRAM XX1/X01/X1 11 speed – don’t think it’s possible as I don’t believe you can get an XD freehub for shimano hubs

    The 11 speed mtb shimano cassette should fit onto 8-10 speed wheels just fine.
    Shimano have dished the larger cog to clear the spokes. Unlike the road stuff that needs a new hub body

    Yep, as above, XTR M9000 fine, SRAM would need new wheels.
