    Who’d of thunk they would be so different 🙄 , but apparently they are. And the bike shops shut wednesday, ballache.

    The moral of the story is: count the gears on the bike you borrow before ordering the wrong type of link.

    Correct. Also, while a 9spd sram link fits a 9spd shimano chain, the same isn’t true on 8 speed.

    ah that wonderful jump to 9spd, really felt the benefits there.

    gets worse, the 10spd links are such tight tolerances, you might want to order the magic tool to connect them.

    8, 9 and 10 power links are different sizes!

    I was thinking of this yesterday when I bought a £3 chain splitter from Asda which came with a powerlink as well. Compatible with all chains it said , I think not . 😆
