  • 9 mm Thru Axle – Very Tight?

    Building up my new Roadrat. The 9 mm thru axle is really tight. I can’t push it through the hub. I reckon it will go through ok if I tap it with a mallet. Is this normal though?
    My maxle glides through.

    Slides through easily on mine (Superstar hub and aluminium axle). Are your end caps inserted okay?

    I had a problem with the axel on a set of xfusion forks. Not sure if this is relevant but see this:

    Mine seems to either the axle is too large or the holes in the hubs are a fraction too small. Will try grease and failing that some wet and dry. Maybe the anodising is too thick round the holes.
