My 24sp commuter/hack bike needs some love so I've got a new chain and cassette and would like new chainrings but am finding them tough to locate. Does anybody know where to get them or got some in decent nick?
Also, does anyone have a set of V-brakes with long arms like XT's? Need them to go around a set of mudguards
If you are finding cheap 8sp stuff hard to find, you can use (fractionally narrower) 9 speed chainrings with an 8/24speed system, for the same reasons (can't find any for sale) I have done so on my commuter for years and it is all fine. Look for alivio or deore as it's cheapest, made of steel rathe than alloy and so will last longer.

Hi , got a set of 9 speed rings 22/32/44 - little use and steel . Theyre truvativ but pretty sure theyd fit others ie shimano as they are all 64mm BCD . Also got some black TEKTRO brakes in decent nick but i dont think they have the blocks - probably robbedem for something or other ....

I've a set of Avid v brakes with levers in pretty good nick. Few years old but were replaced by disk brakes so not seen too much use.
