I had loads from my dads house, couldn't find anyone who wanted them, took 'em to an old record shop in Stockport in the end who gave me twenty quid for them. These were all classical though.

The best bet would be to find your nearest independent record shop and pay them a visit… okay, you might only get a few quid, but it's far better than just chucking them in a skip…

Might also be worth picking up a copy of Record Collector Mag and seeing what they say in there. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has a searchable database online somewhere as well!

$4 here for the Les Paul one: http://groovytunesday.com/shellac1.html.

That's obviously what they sell at, not buy for.

Bought a cabinet at an auction many years ago that was crammed full of them. Almost all mint.

Sifting through them I found one by Elvis, on Sun Records.

Sold it to a dealer for $400 8)

Beatles and other 'collectible' also worth good money. 'Waltz' and classical likely to not be worth carting to the tip!
