    For Mrs S’s new bike.

Prefer a folder with puncture protection.

    Probably 70/30 on/off road use?
Something like a Marathon Supreme but less slick would be nice.

Have been recommended Arisun Metro Runners by one shop.
    Me neither.

    Thanks in advance.

I’ve been looking at Marathon Cross recently, as an all-rounder.

    http://nextdaytyres.co.uk/details.aspx/SCHWALBE-MARATHON-CROSS-MTB-29/1897

http://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour.html is handy to compare the strengths of Schwalbe’s range.

I’m already regretting not pulling the trigger on those £21 Marathon Mondials that were at PX, absolute steal at that price. They are a bit bigger at 29×2/2.25, but I’m toying at perhaps getting a pair of those WTB Nineline TCS for £26.

But maybe I might just make do for now and wait for the recently announced “G-One Speed.”

I’m running Sammy Slicks at the moment on my all round pub hack/gravel/arsing about with the kids/anything you can throw at it bike. They seem to work well on any surface i’ve thrown at them so far. They’re pretty slick when upright so roll very well on smooth surfaces and roads, especially when you pump them up, and have nice nobbles on the edge which work great when you’re cornering on grass or soft surfaces or even when things get a bit muddy. I’ve got the ones with the addition puncture protection and so far only had one puncture which was a pinch flat – I think my rims are too narrow for them. But that issue has been fully addressed with more air! at the expense of some comfort though.

Not the only option but i’d heartedly recommend them.
