    Any opinions on this:
Currently riding an on-one 456 26er Singlespeed with RS pikes@120mm.
Just bought an exotic 465mm carbon fork as I’m not convinced I needed suspension with the slop in the wood right now. My query is do I stay with 26 front wheel with bontrager g-mud 2.2(20psi incredible grip!) or would a 29er front with a mud tyre give better front end grip+ cushioning? It’s going to be muddy till at least May I expect?
If 29er front what is the best sloppy mud+wet roots tyre?
    Thanks.

I’m running an old-style 2.35 Bonty 29-4 on the front of an Inbred 69er. It’s OK, lots of squish and reasonable grip at around 26 psi

    Thanks Keef,
Bonty mud-X definitely on the short list, others that I was considering
Specialized storm 2.0×29 or purgatory 2.3×29, conti mountain king 2.4×29, or schawable hans dampf 2.35×29? Like the idea of big volume as no suspension any more? But no use if it clogs?

69er? Anything that let’s you keep a grip when it all starts to get a bit sweaty and exciting, I should think. Oh, hang on…

I’ve heard good things about the new Spesh tyres, never tried ’em personally tho.been a mud x user for 5 years at least…….
    course,if you want real grip/cushioning,go fat frontage,use a nate !
