Yeah I saw how nice it was up there! Oh well. Did a massive North Downs ride in the sunshine instead.

Update on the rims… It was the National XC at Margam PArk, Wales, this weekend. The course was loose and rocky with some big drops/roll ins and some really bumpy sections, so the rims took a real hammering over the 2 practice laps and 7 race laps. They are fine…

Was gonna ask how they held up. Might add them to the shopping list now…

Did you go for the 30mm wide version gee?

Rode a Whyte 29C with the Carbon rims a few months ago, and was impressed just how stiff the wheels were against a set of Stans. Really tempted to order a pair for my new 29er, just not sure whether the 30mm is overkill and to just go for the 27mm wide or not.

They only do the 650b in 30mm. I’m also going to order the 29er in this width as the tyre is so much more stable and they are only a few grams heavier.

Just wondering how you are getting on with these 3 months on?

(my 29er has arrived and will be getting a new wheelset for xmas…)

    Hi

    Just noticed your reply…

They are still looking new, are perfectly round and have been raced all season in XC and 6hr/24hr races.
