OK my bike literally lives in my car. MrsH wanted to get in today so I had to literally put the bike on the ceiling. It’s getting abit annoying for her having a muddy wheel etc soo close so maybe it’s time for a change. 650b bikes, wheels on AND one off- how do they look, store etc?

In a berlingo B9 van, they go in fine, fully built up, in a B9 estate, I couldn’t say but in the earlier shape M59 one of the split back seats went up to store 1 29er wheels on, or 2 29rs with front wheels off

You’ll die of boredom in a berlingo. You’ll also never be able to get up enough speed to join a motorway.

It’s a pity Duffbags seem so unreliable as a Monster Bag would be perfect (I have two). That being said a Berlingo will be a far better bike car

I was looking at new Berlingo deals and **** ell they aren’t cheap. I remember the days the old one etc were on specials. Now it’s 15k+

Ive seen them at around 12k for outdoor spec hora.

Looked at a brown one the other week specialist cars Aberdeen 9995 on a 15 plate with 7k on clock. Seemed a good deal if you could live with the brownnezs

The brown one- as in just a colour or a poverty spec? I actually like brown cqrs.

Ground face uppermost with case hardening to the valve tip 😉 It “floats” on the layer of oil under the face of the bucket. I did a mates DW8 around 3 year ago in Feb, tolerances are all still spot on

I’ve got a roof rack and a towbar mounted carrier. Tbh the only time I actually use them is if I’m carrying three people or two bikes. I love just alingingbit in and leaving it there

used to see so much of this type of corrosion in the shop that ive never since stuck my bike on a rack where i can possibly help it. I dont even like it in the bed of my landy.

ulysse thats exactly where i was headed if i couldnt find shims for a reasonable price anything would have been better than the way the car started after 4 -5 turns a shudder and a misfire till it warmed up – but someone helpful who fixes citroens for a day job was able to help me.

glad i did as I ended up needing to take out 1/4mm off of three of the inlets. id have been some time with the wet and dry for that.

I think i want a grey or the blue/grey b9 , really cant face another white car and that brown ones just horrific in the flesh

The bronze, black or silver in VRS flavor look pleasing to my eye

Seems the Partner Teepee’s are marginally cheaper than Berlingos

Hora if you see any in any peugeot/citroen group dealer I’ll get it delivered here and I can have 3 cars per year on friends and family so would be good percentage off. Obviously not as much discount as you would like. But still better than nothing.

loads room in a berlingo, you can wheel your 650b bike straight in with one seat folded.

However, be prepared for broken front springs, electrical probs, wind noise, rattles, sticky gearbox links, fragile clutches… we had a berlingo XTR and on paper it was a great car, just not reliable enough.

It’s tempting fate but I’ve had no problems whatsoever with one bought new six or seven years ago. Apart from a new windscreen when some idiot closed the back door on an oak beam that was just 1 cm too long…

Take the back seats out and it’s enormous, but just the single back seat back in and you can transport three of you plus bikes. Mainly, I do a lot of impatient miles (surfer, place on the coast), and don’t recognise the ‘unreliable’ tag.

I’ve had a 2004 and 2006 berlingo multispace, one 1.9 non turbo and one 2.0 HDi

You will not win any style awards, but it is surprising when it comes to driving any distance to an event how friends want to go in your motor and not their Audi estate.

I used to leave it most of the time with the double rear seat completely removed, so i had single seat in back, then you could 3 people and 3 bikes upright in the back without taking them apart at all, and still have space for a lot of Belgian beer (as i found out).

Plus you can have the 2.0 turbo and whilst it won’t win a race, they do actually go and cheap to insure as the average owner is 80 years of age.

I had the older, shorter Berlingo and a bike went in no bother. The removable seats meant I could carry two bikes and a tandem, or two trials motorcycles. The newer one should be even better.
