    This question has been turning over in my head for a few days and rather than discreetly ask someone I feel that this is best answered by you on line guru types.

    so as above: what's the difference and why would you?

    650b is very old hat and only real nerdy type niche sluts use them. IMO.

    This one's easy. 700c for road bikes. 26" for mountain bikes. 650b for nicheists.

    I even leant a spare set of wheels to a Dutch guy today who is going to ride SSEC on them. Look out for a Surly 1×1 with lumo green 650B's on!

    700c is 'normal' road bike size. 650b is for small road frames!

    No it's not – try finding some narrow road tyres in that size. Small road wheels are 650c – a very important difference!
