I like em but I have track record of poor taste.

Is it complete no or are there circumastance when it could be ok?

Wear what the hell you want.
Do you think the kids ask if it’s ok to wear their jeans halfway down their arses?

50 years old and still worried about what random strangers think of your clothing choices?

Wear what you like and don’t give a monkey’s hump about what anyone else thinks.

They already said it for me.
53 here, you should see the crap I wear. Past giving a shite. Especially what the clothing-snob-fail twits on here say!

I personally don’t like converse as they’re a bit flimsy. Since Nike took them over they’ve done something to address that with the stiffer canvas and lunarlon insoles, but still a bit lightweight.

As for 50 year old wearing them? Couldn’t give a wotsit. Run free aged hipster 😉

Edit: Also, after seeing some of the monstrosities some STW’ers wear, Converse are positively perfect.

Two things will never go out of fashion: Converse All Stars and little black dresses. Enjoy! 🙂

I’m sure the OP looks delightful in both.

He just dips his old chap in the paint and jiggles over the canvas.

As Mark Radcliffe correctly observed: as a bloke in your 50’s you’re effectively invisable.

And PP I keep my crayons strapped around my person in a bullet belt..

If you’re also wearing slim fit jeans, a plaid shirt, have gone grey but spike your hair up a bit, have some growth and are a generally cool dude, then the converse are ok. You ride mountain bikes (presumably), you must be a cool dude, right?

I wear my teens’ Converse hand-me-downs. Their feet became to wide and/or too long for the extensive collection I’d bought them on business trips. Very comfortable if you have narrow feet like me. They graduated to Vans.
