Are these any good? Would I notice the difference if I bought them? Currently using the ones my Trek 1.2 came with, which are some kind of ‘Chosen by Bontrager’ thingies. Is it even worth paying out for nice wheels if they’re just going to get mashed up by pothole-y roads anyway? I’m a student so watching the pennies right now….

Whoops sorry meant to say, they’re on Merlin for what’s looks like a great price:

    £169, reduced from £399

4za kit is usually found on Ridley bikes, so pretty good stuff.
1600g pair of wheels for £169 sound a good deal to me!

They’re good wheels at £169. At £399 they’re mediocre, but for the price on Merlin they’re very good and will be a significant upgrade on your Trek 1.2 as you’ll save about 500g in rotating weight!
