all this marketing guff makes money for companies and all our spares redundant
Not really, most of the time people buy new bikes because their old one got so old that either/or:
a) the cost of a new bike is more than the cost of getting it back to ‘as new’
b) it’s so old that technology/geometry/wheel size really has moved on and riding would be more enjoybale on something ‘new’
c) ‘three** year itch’*
*can be a bit like B, but often results in buying a 2nd hand frame, or just likes having something new once in a while.
** anything between one and infinity
Besides, your bike may be perfect, good for you, I don’t own it you do, therefore I need to keep buying new bikes untill I find one that’s perfect like yours :-p
