I’m currently looking at the possibility of using a seatpost shim to allow me to use my current dropper in my new tracer 2 frame (Large), minimum post insertion is 4 inches, but the longest suitable shim I can find is 100mm.

Any suggestions on where I can find a longer shim? (I know Syntace did a 140mm but i cant find one in my size) Or is 100mm close enough to be fine?

    Cheers

    I don’t understand what the problem is? 4 inch = 101mm.

any shorter and you’d be in trouble but you’re on the minimum line that’s fine.

it would seem in bike terms 4inches is 100mm

How many bikes are claimed to be 6 inches travel but turn out they’re 150mm not 152mm?

Wasn’t there a thread on here awhile back about a guy who broke his frame using a shim and dropper post and invalidated his warranty by doing so? Maybe check your warranty small print.
