I’m looking to build up my recently acquired Scandal frame as a lightweight racey type build.

I was planning on Hope Hoops Crests but the Arch EX looks a good option to.

Crests can be had for around the £260 mark but the Arch EX are over £300.

Crests are lighter but the Arch EXs seem to get a good write up for their additional width.

Currently run Flows on my other 29ers and like them but would prefer something lighter.

Thoughts.

I’ve got superstar switch evo/crest wheels on my XC race bike (spearfish) that’s been around Dalby and down the Rangers path without collapsing and on my Fargo that fully laden has been battered down a variety of welsh hills again without collapsing. They did feel a bit flexy on the fargo but then I was carrying a lot of kit and have no suspension to help them out. Wiggle/Halfords seem to have Hope Hoops for around the £250 mark at the moment.
