Taking 2 x road latex tubes as a back up emergency ??
Currently i use 2 x 29er inner tubes as a back up, even when folded they are so BIG and so heavy ;-(

Anybody else carried the latex tubes and used as a back up ??

Lightweight MTB tubes yes, but road ones… No way I’d say.

What about some of the new schwalbe aerothan evo tubes? Should hold up to reasonable mountain biking, but 1/3rd of the weight and size of butyl tubes.

Conti Supersonics would be less bulky. 26″ ones even more so.

Just got back from a bit of bike packing. Friend got a snake bite on the tyre. He repaired it with some of those wiglets you stuff into the hole (can’t remember the name, sorry) . First time I’ve seen it used. It’s quicker than putting a tube in. Lasted over 100 off road miles to the end. Really impressed with them.

So now I take 1 tube, a tyre repair kit and some Park patches.

    Edit: this

You can reduce the kit down if you already have a knife and a pokey thing. Also you only need 1 or 2 strips. You need the file but not all the handle etc
