I was riding at Swinley last night and I got to thinking- I have only ever seen one other 29er apart from mine out on the trail and the the other one was ridden by my buddy Dom…

Anyone thought about arranging a ride for the big wheeled brothers and sisters of the STW massive? The SSer’s have there own get togethers so why not the big wheelers?

    Any thoughts welcome.

Apart from people shouting “behemoth” from the cheap seats of course.

How about the Dales- we could use the Dales Bike Centre for a base/accomodation?

I resurrect this as I’m staying there at the moment, and thought it would be a great location. The bike centre has great accommodation, a cafe, a bike shop, and great route advice from Stuart… All the riding is straightout the front door too!

    Who’s game?

    If I’m about I’m in 😛 .

Being as I’m new to this 29er malarky and having never ridden north of the south (if that makes sense) you’ll have to go easy on me 😉

Swinley would be my choice for what its worth 🙄

ttp – I don’t get up there that much as I’m down on the coast (Brighton/Worthing area) so mainly ride the South or North downs but next time I’m up that way I’ll let you know as I love Swinley but always feel there’s more to it than what i know about 😉

If you were a short arse who found a nice frame, wouldn’t you give it a try? I’d need platforms for a 29-er.

I ride mine round Swinley – never seen another one.

    Maybe it’s a territorial thing.

Sorry HC i forget that not everyone is 6ft plus 😳

I have a mate who’s got a niner but apart from that i have only really seen one other 29e,r apart from at races, which was a red Gary Fisher ridden by some old bloke along the road with semi slicks on it, what a waste 🙄

If the Dales one happens, I’ll do my best to get there! I can also get a few 29er demo bikes to convince those still riding round on their outdated small wheel bikes…………
