Any sugestions? I am going to be doing a few miles commuting on my 29er for the next couple of months and would rather not do it on my rather expensive mtb tires.

Depends on your rims but probably something between 28 and 35mm wide.

I’m commuting at the moment on my Fargo and am running massive Schwalbe Big Apples 2.35’s and i love them. They eat up potholes and anything else the roads can throw at you yet roll surprisingly well. Over an 11 mile commute i’m only a minute or two slower than on my road bike running 23mm tyres. Highly recommended and they look ace too.

I’ve also run Spesh Borough CX 700x42c tyres (i picked them up at the Edinburgh sale for £4 each posted!) but much prefer the Big Apples.

Halo twin rail, that’s what I use.
