Having slagged off 29ers for ages just cause they look stupid, I finally rode one last weekend. A nice Ibis Ripley. A very fast and capable trail bike but too heavy for xc/marathon races. I get the 29er thing if you want too go fast.

I might consider buying a hardtail 29er next year for racing on. Anyone own a canyon CF SLX 29er?
