    about to get some new bars for my 29er,
    i have a giant xtc1 29er

    riser or flat?

    get whatever you need to be in the correct riding position. No one can answer that from the internet.

    That said, it’s not uncommon to need a flat bar to keep the front end down on some 29ers.

    I’m on the internet, I can answer that.

    Do you feel comfy with what you have already? If Yes, don’t change If No change for something that does make you comfy.

    FWIW I use flat with a 5Deg sweep.

    Another flat bar rider here. On-One fleegles.
    But I spent some time at Bike Science in Bristol getting a good position sorted.

    Rider on my XTC29er.

    I’ve recently gone back and done 2 rides on the flat bars…. went back to the risers.
